1979 Lamborghini LP400S Countach, SN 112.1094. The car was finished in September, 1979 and is an early, low body model (40.9 in high). 10 of these

" Series 1" cars were made in 1978 and another 40-41 were made in 1979.

The wheels are sand cast magnesium and made in Italy by Compagnolo. The rear tires are 13.5 inches. While the car is short and low, it still holds 31.5 gallons of premium fuel (in two tanks) and the engine holds over 18 quarts of 20W50 racing oil. The gas tanks are filled through openings in the NACA ducts on the side of the car.

1971. The origin

This is the year the Countach was born, by a Ferruccio and M.Gandini corpusmind. When everything started.
Countach!!! A crude north italian slang word to salute the first sight of prototype, come into the legend for ever and ever.

NEL MITO ( INTO THE STORY)

Un blog nel blog, potremmo chiamare Zone Rouge 1... Oppure un sito monografico a cura di Reparto Corse n. 6, sarebbe meglio, il primo di una serie da me ideata come un piccolo gioco di scatole cinesi per permettere a noi tutti di ricordare o di immergersi nelle magnifiche atmosfere che solo motori di razza, e percio' da sogno, possono regalarci.
Ripercorrere la storia e le immagini di un'auto come la Countach, che ha segnato un'epoca abbastanza lunga tra l'inizio degli anni 70 e la fine degli anni 80, per me sicuramente rimarra' un'esperienza per rivivere un ventennio, e anche gli anni piu' spensierati della vita di chi ora ha tra i 30 e i 40 anni ( ma non solo), cioè quei tanto contrastati anni 80, che comunque sono stati ricchi di storia e di avvenimenti per la storia italiana su cui andro' a focalizzare l'attenzione, perche' italiana purosangue è la Countach, antesignana di uno stile inarrivabile in tutto il pianeta e portavoce di un modo di fare tecnica e stile applicato ai motori che ancora oggi fa sognare e viaggiare lontano con la fantasia. Spero l'idea sia gradita ai lettori di Reparto Corse n.6 che poco sanno su questa dreamcar, e anche a chi puo' insegnarci tutto su di Lei, sperando di poter essere il piu' preciso ed esaustivo possibile.

You can call it a blog into the blog, or better, a chinese boxes game dedicated to some pureblood engines giving us dreamy atmospheres...
We'll roll over the true story of the Countach, and for that, through the 80's italian story so contrasting, because the Countach is italian 100x100 , like the art and the genius that created it, unmatchable and fantastic piece of high technique.
